Elizabeth Pufall Jones

Director of Preparation and Work Environment Programs

As the Director of Preparation and Work Environment Programs, Elizabeth leads the design and implementation of research and policy projects on the higher education and certification, work environments, and well-being of early educators. 

In addition to her teaching in settings ranging from preschool to college classrooms, Elizabeth has developed curriculum, acted as a mentor teacher, provided consultation to early childhood programs, and developed a rich mixed methods research portfolio. 

Previously as a Senior Research Scientist at the Center for Promise at Boston University, Elizabeth worked with youth, organizations, and schools to better understand the lived experiences of youth and those supporting their development in the service of better educational outcomes and experiences. She currently serves on the executive board of the Jean Piaget Society. 

Elizabeth earned her Ph.D. in Applied Child Development at Tufts University, an M.A. in Educational Psychology from The University of Colorado Denver, and a B.A. from Smith College.  In her free time she works in her urban veggie and flower gardens and supports her daughters to become the best versions of themselves.
