Dara O’Rourke’s current research analyzes systems for regulating the environmental and social impacts of industrial activities. Through a range of projects, he has been examining trends in industrial development, and state, firm, and community responses to adverse impacts of industrialization. He works with NGOs and community-based organizations in the US and Asia to analyze the impacts of manufacturing on communities and workers, and to advance more effective strategies for regulating environmental and health hazards. He is currently working on projects in the US, Vietnam, China, and Indonesia.
